We Will Lead (2020)
Art Print

In a time when the whole world ground to a hard stop, the actions and empathy of those brave enough to light the path forward were more important than ever. This piece explores that time — when our leaders demonstrated how to effectively face down formidable challenges and succeed.

We Will Lead is an Augmented Reality art print given to all executives across Hearst Television to celebrate their leadership during Covid-19 times and the anniversary of working from home. It talks about change and all other values necessary for the demands of the 'new world' we live in.

An augmented
reality experience.

I wanted to talk about the present, but also pay tribute to the past and its power to help light the way into the future. The Hearst building in New York City represents both: the tower rising from the structure’s original footprint, its dynamic Diagrid design propelling us – with a newly seized set of tools – into the future.

It was also important to talk about change. There is no moving forward without understanding the demands of the ‘new world’ and the impact on those who would lead. Visualizing these values required precise and gentle movements. All six symbols represented on the print were created from the flow of the pen, trying to capture the essence of each concept. I wanted to explore how a simple action, the gesture of a hand, can become a symbol of pride, a medal of honor, a token of appreciation. Likewise, how a small act of kindness can make a big impact in our communities.

Lastly, I looked for a way to inspire and invite you to look to the future. A video-art experience was made to tell the story of the bravery and leadership of our colleagues. It is a piece of Augmented Reality made with Artivive.
