Wearable Technology

Ocean Glow (2013)

Ocean Glow is a wearable technology project that aims to explore different tools to create an intelligent cape inspired by the jellyfish and other marine creatures who lives in the deepest of the sea and have bio-luminescent properties.

The project was developed using Arduino lillypad to control the communication between Skintimacy, hardware and the application. The cape have several modes of interaction using to make an enriching User Experience: If a person touch any of its four tentacle, a sound will be played through a buzzer generating a cool feedback. Also, the cloak have a led matrix that is controlled using an Android device via Bluetooth, to manage the direction of the light sequence.

Technology Used:
Hardward: Arduino Lillypad, Skintimacy, Smartphone Android.
Software: Arduino 1.0.6, Processing 2.0, Eclipse for Android development.
